- ll This standard specifies the gas chromatography method for the determination of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, dimethyl, etc., aromatic hydrocarbons above C9 and total aromatic hydrocarbons in finished gasoline. 1.2 The aromatic hydrocarbons in the finished gasoline can be analyzed without being affected by the dry acid of other hydrocarbons.
