- This standard specifies a method for the determination of the total sulfur content in liquid hydrocarbons with a distillation range of approximately 25°C to 400°C and a viscosity at room temperature between approximately 0.2 and 10 cSt (mm2/S). This method can be applied to light oil, distillate oil, automobile fuel and oil with a total sulfur content of 1.0 to 8000 mg/kg. 1.2 This standard can be applied to determine the total sulfur content of liquid hydrocarbons containing halogen content less than 0.35% (m/m)
