- This standard stipulates that the samples used in the test method of CNS 1218 [Distillation Test Method for Petroleum Products] are targeted at mineral solvents with a distillation range of 149 to 210°C (300 to 410°F), and are used to test ethylbenzene and 8 carbon numbers and heavier. The concentration range of aromatic hydrocarbons ranges from 0.1 to 30%. This method can be used to identify aromatic hydrocarbons and calculate aromatic hydrocarbon composition concentrations as low as 0.1vol.%
