This European Standard specifies a method for the determination of vitamin A present in food products by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). This method was validated in an interlaboratory test involving samples of margarine and powdered milk with concentrations of all-E-retinol between 653 mu g/100 g and 729 mg/100 g and concentrations of 13 -Z-retinol between 30 mu g/100 g and 39 mu g/100 g. The vitamin A content is determined by measuring all-E-retinol, 13-Z-retinol and beta-carotene. This part concerns the dosage of all-E-retinol and 13-Z-retinol
