This Standard applies to miniature circuit-breakers for alternating current having a frequency of 50 hertz and a rated voltage not exceeding 400 volt intended for the protection of the wiring in domestic and similar electrical installations where the ambient temperature is between 0° and 40°C. (1)This Standard does not apply to miniature circuit-breakers with adjustable current rating, to motor protecting switches or to current-limiting devices. Also, this Standard does not apply to miniature circuit-breakers for DC.
This Standard does not include requirements that ensure resistance to moisture of circuit-breakers having a special protection against moisture.
