Scope
The purpose of this standard is to specify the characteristics and tests relating to switches with a nominal current of 1.5 to 63A, with automatic disconnection, magneto-thermal, reclosing and disconnection by means of a manual operation device incorporated into the switch itself, or , those that incorporate remote manual reclosing devices, or also with automatic reclosing. This standard applies to power control switches (ICP) for alternating current with a nominal voltage not exceeding 415 V 50 Hz and intended to control the power contracted by subscribers of electrical energy distribution companies. Within these power control switches the following groups will be distinguished: a) Automatic switches, magnetothermkos for power control with built-in manual reclosing, called ICP - M. b) Automatic switches for power control, with remote manual reclosing, called ICP -R. c) Automatic switches for power control, with automatic reclosing, called ICP - A. NOTE - The requirements of this standard are based on an ambient temperature between 10 and 30 °C, which may occasionally be between -5 and 40 ° C, provided that the average daily value does not exceed 35 °C. This standard does not contain the additional requirements or tests necessary for switches having a higher degree of protection against moisture than ordinary switches. For use in premises with severe conditions, for example high or low temperatures, or excessive deposits of dust, and in premises with a dangerous atmosphere, where there is, for example, a danger of explosion, special constructions or mounting inside the premises may be required. a suitable supplementary envelope.
