This standard aims to:
——define the terms used;
——define the electrical and mechanical characteristics of organic support insulators and establish the conditions under which the specified values of these characteristics must be verified;
——prescribe test methods;
——set the acceptance criteria for a supply. NOTE — This standard does not give numerical values for the characteristics of support insulators nor does it contain prescriptions relating to the choice of a support insulator depending on the service it must ensure. The UNE 21-110/2 standard specifies the numerical values for the electrical and mechanical characteristics and gives the necessary dimensions for the interchangeability of the support insulators.
