This standard applies to alternating current disconnectors and earthing switches for indoor or outdoor installation, voltages greater than 1 000 V and service frequency up to and including 60 Hz. This standard also applies to the control devices of disconnectors and earthing switches and their auxiliary equipment. This standard does not deal with the complementary conditions required by the disconnectors and grounding switches included in the under-enclosure switchgear, which are covered by the UNE 20-099 standard "Metal-enclosed switchgear for alternating current with rated voltages greater than 1 kV and less than or equal to 72.5 kV, Publication 466 of the International Electrotechnical Commission "High voltage switchgear under insulating casing" and UNE Standards 20-141 "High voltage switchgear under metallic casing with gas insulation for equal rated voltages or greater than 72.5 kV. NOTE - This standard does not apply to disconnectors of which a fuse is an integral part.
