This European Standard specifies the characteristics of electrolytically oxychromated steel (ECCS), obtained by simple or double cold reduction, supplied in sheets or coils intended for subsequent cutting into sheets. The nominal thicknesses of simple reduction oxychrome steel are multiples of 0.005 mm and range between 0.17 mm and 0.49 mm, both included. The thicknesses of double reduction oxychrome steel are also multiples of 0.005 mm, but are between 0.14 mm and 0.29 mm. This standard is applicable to coils and sheets cut from coils of nominal width equal to or greater than 600 mm. Annex C indicates the applicable chapters for the chosen product.
