This standard describes a method for determining the copper content in lead using the atomic absorption technique. The method is applicable to copper contents between 0.0005 and 0.005% by mass. The method can be easily applied to copper contents greater than 0.005% by mass by appropriate dilution of the solution corresponding to the test sample (see 6.1). In any case, it is important that the solutions to be analyzed and the solutions corresponding to the calibration terms are under similar conditions of acidity, lead concentration, etc.
