This standard specifies the electrical resistance limits of certain anti-electrostatic and conductive products for hospital use. These limits are generally appropriate for the products indicated in this standard but, where another standard exists for one of them, the limits included and the test method indicated in the latter should be used instead of those set in this standard. This standard does not apply to articles that have their most relevant surfaces made up of insulating and conductive areas, nor to products that have a significant part of their surface made of an insulating material. The tests are carried out on finished products using a perfectly defined electrode system that is useful for factory inspection or through service tests.
