The purpose of this standard is to measure the speed with which heat is developed and the fatigue characteristics of vulcanized rubber, subjected to dynamic deformation by compression. The data obtained does not correspond, in many cases, to the performance of the finished article during service, but if the test is carried out under identical conditions, it allows useful comparisons to be established between the various products.
