The purpose of this standard is to establish the principles of symbolization and specify the symbols that must be used in the diagrams of hydraulic and pneumatic transmissions. In hydraulic and pneumatic transmission systems, energy is transmitted and controlled by a fluid (liquid or gas) under pressure, circulating in a closed circuit. The use of these symbols does not preclude the use of other symbols commonly used in piping diagrams in other domains of the art.
