The purpose of this standard is to specify a method for evaluating the "final" biodegradability of organic compounds at a given concentration, by the action of aerobic microorganisms. The operating conditions described in this standard do not necessarily correspond in all cases to the optimal conditions that allow maximum biodegradation to be achieved.
