The purpose of this European Standard is to establish the test methods for carrying out the chemical analysis of cements. This standard describes the reference surgical procedures and, in certain cases, a variant (optional method), which provides equivalent results. If other procedures are used, it must be proven that they provide results equivalent to those obtained with the reference methods. In the case of litigation, only the reference operating procedures should be used. This standard applies to cements, as well as their component materials, such as clinker and slag. Specification standards establish the test methods that must be used.
