This standard applies, except for specific provisions, to the classification according to their reaction to fire of construction materials, to coatings applied to their supports and to interior finishing materials. The term "material" is used to designate the object of the classification in the different cases indicated in the previous paragraph. The classification according to reaction to fire applies to materials presented in the form of panels or plates, films, veils, sheets, etc. The opacity and toxicity of the combustion products are not taken into account since they refer to the consequences of fire and fires.
