The purpose of this standard is to describe the method of refining pulps for paper, in the laboratory, using the PFI mill. Refining is a previous step for evaluating the characteristics of said pastes. In principle, this method is applicable to any type of pasta. However, in the case of extremely long fiber pulps, such as cotton linter fiber pulps, the method described in this standard may not be satisfactory.
