This standard is intended to describe a method for the determination of iron (II) from natural and processed iron ores containing from 1% to 25% acid-soluble Fe (II). The metallic iron content of these minerals must be only at a trace level, and the method is not applicable to minerals that contain concentrations greater than 0.3% sulfur (as sulfide) and/or 5% free carbon.
