This European Standard specifies the general criteria that must be followed by a certification body that carries out product certification so that it is recognized at national or European level as competent and reliable to carry out a product certification system, regardless of the sector in question. It is planned to be used by the organizations in charge of recognizing the competence of certification bodies. This set of criteria may need to be completed when applied to particular sectors.
