This International Standard defines the characteristics of incomplete threads at the union of the thread with the shank, or with the head, and at the opposite end, of fastening elements with rolled thread used in aerospace constructions. Prescribes a control method, by optical projection, to be used in the event of litigation, with a view to verifying these characteristics. Although this standard mainly affects screws, it can also be applied to all male threaded elements with rolled threads, with the exception of those that meet particular specifications regarding incomplete threads.
