This experimental standard specifies a manual method for determining the hardness coefficient, n, of steel sheets with a thickness equal to or less than 20 mm. This method is only valid for those materials that have a continuous and monotonous tensile curve in the plastic zone. The hardness coefficient n can be obtained directly if an automatic traction machine is used that incorporates a computer data processing system with a program that allows its calculation.
