The purpose of this standard is to describe the methods for determining the dielectric loss factor, relative permittivity and resistivity (in direct current) of insulating liquids. These methods are intended for new insulating liquids; but they can be applied to insulators in service in transformers, cables and other electrical equipment. However, for routine tests the methods described in Annex A can be used.
