This international standard specifies a gravimetric method for the determination of sulfur in steels and cast irons; It is not applicable to steels containing selenium. This method is especially usable as a reference method for the normalization of samples for which certified normal values must be established. This method is applicable to products whose sulfur content is greater than 0.003% (m/m).
