The purpose of this standard is to establish a volumetric method for determining the content of carbonyl compounds present in moderate amounts in ethanol used as raw material for detergent formulations. The method is applicable to products whose content of carbonyl compounds, expressed as acetaldehyde, is greater than or equal to 0.01% NOTE This method, used in commercial practice, allows the determination of only carbonyl compounds capable of reacting under the specified conditions.
