Scope
The purpose of this standard is to specify the conditions and measurement methods used to determine the characteristics of a radio transmitter, and to make possible the comparison of the results of measurements made by different observers. This standard details the methods selected to carry out the recommended measurements to evaluate the essential properties of a radio transmitter. The measurement methods described are limited to those characteristics that could be subject to ambiguous interpretations, as a consequence of the application of different measurement methods and conditions. These methods are not mandatory or restrictive; In each particular case a series of alternative measures can be chosen, if necessary; Additional measures can be carried out, but they will preferably be carried out in accordance with the standards established by the standards bodies of the corresponding country. The limit values of the various magnitudes that correspond to acceptable operation are not specified, since these must be given in the specifications corresponding to the equipment. The measurement methods detailed in this standard are intended for type tests, and can also be used for acceptance tests and for factory control tests (see chapter 3).
