Scope

This part of DD 257 describes a method for the qualitative identification of carboxylic acids in wood preservative solutions containing zinc and copper carboxylates. It gives two gas chromatographic options: one using a capillary column and one using a packed column. It is applicable primarily to the analysis of preservative formulations conforming to BS 5707.
