1.1 This Standard establishes acceptable noise levels in indoor environments where commerce, industry, art, teaching, sports and other activities take place. 1.2 For the purposes of this Standard, an acceptable noise level is the maximum value of the sound level, given in decibels, that allows the minimum comfort for the majority of occupants in a given environment.
