- This standard provides general specifications for piston rings (hereinafter referred to as rings) with a nominal diameter of 200 mm or less used in reciprocating internal combustion engines. This standard also specifies the ring codes, naming, and marking methods. This standard may also be applied to compressor rings that operate under similar conditions.
