Scope

This standard has been developed to: - be independent of the type of welded structure to be manufactured; - determine the quality requirements for shop and field welds; - express the ability of a manufacturer to produce welded structures meeting the specified requirements Provide guidance; -- can be used as the basis for evaluating the manufacturer's welding capabilities. This standard may be used when it is required to demonstrate the ability of a manufacturer to produce welded structures and to meet specified quality requirements in one or more of the following cases: - contracts between interested parties; - applied standards; -- General requirements. These requirements of this standard can be fully adopted by the manufacturer. They may also be selectively removed if not applicable to the structure in question. These requirements provide an applicable framework for welding control under the following conditions: Condition 1 provides specific requirements for fusion welding in the contract (the contract requires the manufacturer to have a quality system different from GB/T19001 or GB/T19002). Condition 2 provides specific requirements for fusion welding as a guide for the manufacturer to establish a quality system. Condition 3 provides specific requirements for reference in applicable standards (which contain requirements for fusion welding) or in contracts between interested parties. However, such cases may be more suitable for the GB/T 12467.4 standard.
