This Bulletin specifies the procedures for testing 2-Wire 4-Kilohertz Voiceband Duplex Modems that operate over the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). These procedures apply regardless of the manufacturer@ type@ or implementation of the modem. The testing procedures for modems that perform compression of synchronous data are under study.
