Scope
1. Scope 1.1 This standard covers the construction and testing of motors and generators for use in locations of the following types: Class I, groups C and D, Class II, groups E, F and G and in firedamp mines, designed to be installed and used in accordance with the Canadian Electric Code, Part I and CAN3-M421, Use of Electricity in Mines. Note. The word “machine” used in the text of this standard designates motors and generators interchangeably. 1.2 This standard applies to machines intended for use at ambient temperatures of: (a) -50 to +40°C for Class I, groups C and D and Class II, groups E, F and G; (b) 0 to +40°C in the case of firedamp mines.
