Scope
PURPOSE The aim of this Allied Naval Engineering Publication (ANEP) is to provide the information necessary to operate NEOP-RADAR. There are two types of NEOP-RADAR users: the radar Frequency Coordinator and Participant. The generation of a radar frequency management plan for radars and weapons systems fitted aboard platforms in an operation or exercise falls under the duties of the radar Frequency Coordinator. Participant refers to the individuals aboard each platform in the operation or exercises who are responsible for verifying the equipment fit on their platform and providing operating frequencies and channels for the radars and weapon systems as requested by the Frequency Coordinator. The NEOP-RADAR software was subject to evaluation during NATO Sea Trials in August 1999. Evaluation of the NEOP-RADAR software is documented in NATO/U.S. Electromagnetic Compatibility Trials Evaluation of NATO Electromagnetic Operational Program-Radar Interim Operational Capability@ NATO Sea Trials Objective 7; NATO Electromagnetic Operational Programme-Radar (NEOP-RADAR) Test and Evaluation Results; and Analysis of NATO Operational Electromagnetic Programme-Radar (NEOP-RADAR) Test Data Collected by Portugal and United Kingdom for the 1999 NATO Sea Trials Objective 7. This document identifies the responsibilities of each type of user throughout the frequency coordination process and provides detailed operating instructions for the two software applications associated with NEOP-RADAR.
