Scope
Purpose This specification provides a standard for the alignment tests required to evaluate the accuracy and determine acceptance of NAS 900 Series equipment noted in paragraph 1.2@ and to provide a standard format for recording and reporting actual alignment results. This standard lists minimum requirements. Classification This specification is applicable to the machines in the following categories. Milling Machines general purpose - knee and bed type - horizontal and vertical. Numerically Controlled milIing machines - knee and bed type horizontal and vertical. Horizontal boring@ drilling and milling machines. Numerically Controlled horizontal boring@ drilling and milling machines. Numerically Controlled combination drilling@ boring@ milling and tapping machines. Milling Machines tracer controlled - profiling and contouring. Milling Machines - numerically controlled profiling and contouring. Milling Machine - numerically controlled skin/profile. Spar Mill - numerically controlled. Any other machines to which the tests contained herein may be applicable.
