This European standard establishes the methods for determining the chloride, carbon dioxide and alkaline contents in cements. The standard describes reference methods and, in certain cases, a variant that provides equivalent results. If other methods are used, it must be proven that they provide results equivalent to the results of the reference methods. In case of dispute, only reference methods should be used. This standard applies to cements, as well as their component materials such as, for example, clinker or blast furnace slag.
