This standard specifies a method for the determination of the average relative molecular weight of alkanemonosulfonates present in technical alkanesulfonates that do not contain significant quantities of paraffins. In addition, the standard specifies a method for determining the content of alkanemonosulfonates. The method is applicable to all alkali metal salts of paraffin sulfochlorination and desulfoxidation products.
