This standard specifies the general, mechanical, electrical and those relating to variation, safety and environmental characteristics of radioactive aerosol radioactivity meters and monitors, as well as the tests to which they must be subjected. It also establishes the documentation that must be attached to this equipment. The additional characteristics that the equipment to be installed in land vehicles, airplanes, ships, etc. must meet. They will be the subject of study in another document. This standard will apply to the following equipment:
——Aerosol radioactivity meters. - Aerosol radioactivity monitors. This standard will not apply to the following equipment:
——Meters and monitors designed for selective control (for example, plutonium aerosol radiation). - Equipment provided with a selector system for electrostatic precipitation, impact, etc. - Indicator and alarm equipment.
