Scope
This part of JB/T 4730 specifies the X-ray and γ-ray inspection technology and quality classification requirements for fusion welded butt joints of metal material pressure components of pressure equipment. This section is applicable to the radiographic inspection of butt welded joints during the manufacturing, installation, and in-use inspection of pressure components of pressure equipment. Metal materials used to make welded joints include carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel, copper and copper alloys, aluminum and aluminum alloys, titanium and titanium alloys, nickel and nickel alloys. The radiation detection technologies specified in this part are divided into three levels: Level A - low sensitivity technology; Level AB - medium sensitivity technology; Level B - high sensitivity technology. The radiographic inspection of butt welded joints of supporting parts and structural parts of pressure-bearing equipment can also be used with reference.
